Their Excellencies Ministers of Transport and Communication in the GCC countries, members of the Ministerial Committee of Transportation, have approved the timetable for the founding phase of the GCC Railways Authority, during their extraordinary meeting Sunday, which was held via video conference and chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, led the State of Qatar's delegation.
The meeting discussed implementing the decision of the 42nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) approving the establishment of the GCC Railways Authority.
The documents related to the GCC Railways Authority and the timetable for starting its work were also discussed, and the necessary steps were agreed upon during the founding phase, which extends for twelve months.
