Saudi Arabia reports lowest single-day COVID-19 cases since June

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded 1,759 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking the Kingdom’s lowest single-day infections since June.

The ministry also announced 27 more deaths due to complications caused by coronavirus infection.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and virus-related fatalities in the Kingdom so far to 272,590 and 2,945 respectively.

There was no case reported from the holy sites.

The city of Hafouf saw the highest number of new infections with 194 cases followed by Makkah and Riyadh with 122 and 108 new infections over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 2,945 more patients have recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 228,569.

The total number of active cases in the Kingdom stands at 41,205, out of which 2,063 are in a critical condition.
