DOHA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met in Doha on Sunday with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah on bilateral cooperation.

"During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations, as well as issues of common concern," according to a press release by the Qatari foreign ministry.

The Omani foreign minister's visit comes as the Gulf crisis that unfolded on June 5, 2017 continues after three Gulf Cooperation Council members, namely Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, and Egypt severed diplomatic relations with Qatar.

The four countries imposed economic blockade and shut down all ground, air and sea outlets amongst other punitive measures as they accuse Qatar of supporting and financing terrorism and interfering in their internal affairs, which are strongly denied by Doha.

Oman has sat on the fence in these developments while Kuwait played a mediatory role in an attempt to defuse the crisis.
